Neužil from The Institute of Biotechnology AS CR and Griffith University, Australia, has published a remarkable discovery of tumor cell function in the prestigious journal Cell Metabolism.

A tumor cell with no mitochondrial DNA (i.e. no mitochondria that is a respiratory and energetic center of a cell), which is essential for cell function, is able to obtain this organelle from another cell and thus renew its tumorous potential.
